Accelerating Drug Discovery: Enabling Tools and Techniques

Farah Mavandadi, Biotage, Charlottesville, VA

Microwave technology has significantly accelerated the chemical synthesis process in most organic chemistry laboratories. The speed of synthesis, however, is offset by work-up of reactions and purification, which are a bottleneck in most instances. The combination of MAOS with tools, such as solid-supported reagents and scavengers, enable creative techniques that can help address this bottleneck and significantly accelerate compound production time. This talk will address microwave techniques that enable rapid production of organic compounds.
