Transcription factors that regulate RNA polymerase catalysis in bacteria

Sergei Borukhov, UMDNJ, Stratford, NJ

This talk will present the structure-function correlates and the mechanisms of action and regulation of two homologous transcription elongation factors, GreA/B and Gfh1. These factors bind RNA polymerase core or holoenzyme in the secondary channel, and act directly on the RNA polymerase catalytic center by stimulating or inhibiting its functional activities.
