MARM 2008 Careers Program
Career Workshops, Resumé Reviews and Careers in Transition


The MARM 2008 careers program provides a broad array of career services, including online job searches, career workshops, a panel discussion, and one-on-one resumé reviews and career assistance from trained ACS Career Consultants and staff. Registered attendees interested in attending any of the events listed should contact ACS staff at the meeting registration desk for assistance as early as possible

On Monday May 19th, ACS will offer career workshops, one-on-one resumé reviews, and career assistance sessions. These services are open to both ACS members and to national and student affiliates.

The following workshops will be offered at no charge on Monday, May 19.

9:00 Resumé Preparation & Targeting the Job Market for Undergraduates – presented by V. Kuck
10:00 Interviewing Skills – presented by W. Bush
11:00 Managing an Effective Job Search – presented by V. Kuck
Noon Lunch Break
1:00 Resumé Preparation for Experienced Chemists – presented by V. Kuck
2:00   One-on-One Resumé Reviews – reviews by W. Bush and B. Suits
 

Note: Interested participants should bring two copies of their current resumé and sign up at the workshop.

Individual 15 minute resumé reviews begin at 2:00 pm


Resumé Preparation
Discover the secrets of a winning resumé. Focus on your skills and abilities. This session covers cover letters and personal data formats for government jobs.

Targeting the job Market
Learn about the latest trends and understand how to identify the best job for you. Develop networking skills.

Interviewing Skills
The key to an effective interview is your ability to demonstrate the match between your background and the requirements of the position.
