Antimicrobials
The antimicrobial symposium will cover new technologies that are effective against bacteria, fungi and viruses. Today there is an ever growing concern of pathogenic organisms developing resistance to antibiotics. This is now evident in the current awareness and concern of the general public to MRSA. New antimicrobial technologies are required to be effective against resistance strains of organisms. Infection is not the only concern of these organisms. Both fungi and bacteria attack coatings and materials affecting not only their appearance, but also durability. Technologies will be presented that could have potential application in medicinal, medical and industrial applications.
